PERANCANGAN PRESS BLOCK MEDIUM (PBM) DENGAN MACAM BENTUK NUTRISI SEBAGAI SOLUSI MEDIA TANAM PADA LAHAN MARGINAL
Abstract
In 2015 marginal land in Indonesia reached 157,246,565 hectares and could be utilized 91,904,643 hectares or only 58.4%. This certainly can be detrimental where the land cannot be planted by plants and cannot be cultivated properly so that it’s only left open and triggers mild to severe erosion (if the area with a slope> 15º). Press-Block products have a very complex composition taking into account the nutrient requirements of each type of plant to be cultivated. The essential macro nutrients are N, P, K, Ca, Mg and S and the essential micro nutrients are Fe, Mn, B, Mo, Cu and Zn. The main composition of this product is organic materials for the fulfillment of nutrients such as animal dung, plant litter, cocopeat, coconut fiber, coffee grounds, and banana stems. As an adhesive used clay soil and banana weevil. Additional nutrients are filled with the addition of basic fertilizers, inorganic fertilizers, mycorrhizae, and rhizobium. The process of pressing the material is done so that the product becomes compact, so as to ensure the presence of nutrients and facilitate the process of shipping and application in the land to be planted. The results of this study were able to produce 3 PBM prototype products with unique, specific, and non-residual specifications, namely: (1) Press Block Medium Standard (PBMSr) suitable for a variety of plants and marginal lands. (2) Press Block Medium Reclamation (PBMR) suitable for various LCC plants and mine land reclamation with top-soil rock. (3) Medium Block Press Sand (PBMSa) suitable for a variety of plants and reclamation of sandy and coastal land. With this press block, it’s intended to be a new discovery that can increase the productivity of a variety of plants in each type of problematic or critical / marginal soil.
